2012-04-20 20:14:00 Bodyguard 'Checks Out' Palin and She Snaps Back

BY ALLIE SPILLYARDS ANCHOR JIM FLINK The Secret Service controversy continues. The members accused of hiring prostitutes are still in the headlines, but one particular agent is stealing some of the limelight. And this time, Sarah Palin's right in the middle. CNN explains why. "This is a photo from the Facebook page of 48-year-old former supervisor David Randal Chaney... In the comments right beneath this picture he writes, quote, 'I was really checking her out if you know what I mean.'" Sarah Palin was quick to shoot back a response. Here's what she said on Fox News. "Well this agent who was kind of ridiculous there in posting pictures and comments about checking someone out. Well check this out bodyguard. You're fired." Palin went on to say, "The president's got to crack down" on the agency. While the President addressed the incidents in Colombia last week, CBS's Bill Plante reports the White House is staying quiet now, leaving an avenue of attack open for Republicans. "Republicans keep pointing out several recent distractions. This incident, the troops posing with body parts in Afghanistan... And they're suggesting that somehow all of this adds up to a lack of presidential leadership." Three agents implicated in the scandal have already resigned. The Washington Post reports two of them, including Chaney, were in positions of authority — a troubling sign for the agency. "The disclosure that two high-level managers were involved in the misconduct has raised questions of accountability and personal conduct ... Chaney and Stokes have each worked at the Secret Service for nearly two decades, and both have served significant time with the presidential protection detail..." A total of 21 secret service members have been suspended for last week's scandal.
